BLOOKER - Democratic Luxury

John Blooker was born in 1935 in Bray, a small Irish town near Dublin.
He was only 15 when he started working in a skilled tailor's shop.

Here he sews the first denim imported from the United States where, for some time now, the trousers invented by Levi's Strauss have been rampant.

In 1960, John emigrated to the United States. He has a dream: to arrive in the country where everything is possible and open a small denim factory there.

For many years he worked in South Hampton, New Hampshire, in various manufacturing factories producing denim, T-shirts and chinos.

Here he discovers a new passion: polo shirts.

In 1975 he moved to New York and finally, in the meat market district, he opened his denim, t-shirt and polo factory; the following year he opened his first shop, initially born as a company outlet.

His jeans and polo shirts are immediately popular, and quickly conquer the characters of the American jet set.

An article in the New York Times will define John Blooker the only American able to compete with the French in the creation of polo shirts.

John is a lover of Africa, passionate about the colonial style.

He has always been fascinated by the animal world, in particular by the panther.

That's why he chooses a panther head as a symbol of his clothing line.

From this moment, the Blooker brand begins to spread in the United States through an increasingly dense network of stores.

In 2004, the Blooker brand arrived in Italy too, thanks to a partnership with an Italian company, launching a new challenge for the old continent's griffes.
